Individual Counseling for Those on the Spectrum
Do you, or your loved one, experience depression, anxiety, inability to focus on important tasks, disorganization, or low self-esteem? These and other mental health challenges commonly occur with autism spectrum disorders. OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder), suicidal thoughts, attention deficit disorder, and learning disabilities are also often seen in individuals on the spectrum. Individual counseling is a recommended treatment method (along with medication, when indicated) for a wide range of mental health problems.
Coaching can help you master the challenges of daily living, such as understanding the “neurotypical” social world, maintaining friendships, and organizing your time to achieve your goals. With coaching from a mental health professional who understands autism spectrum disorders you will have the comfort knowing that the stress, anxiety, and depression you may be experiencing will be treated, as well.
Individual counseling is generally most effective on a weekly basis, with regular, one-hour sessions, although we can discuss how best to meet your needs.
